Okay, so I wanted to evolve my Haunter in Pokemon Go, and I gotta say, it wasn’t as straightforward as I initially thought. I mean, I knew I needed candies, but there’s more to it, especially if you want to save some candies!
First things first, I caught a bunch of Gastly and Haunter. I walked around my usual spot – that park near my house where they seem to pop up pretty often, especially during the evening. Gotta say, it took a few days and a lot of walking and lucky eggs, so don’t expect to get like 10 in just a few hours. I used a few Pinap Berries too, to double the candy I got from each catch.
My Little Experiment
- Catching: This is the basic starting point. More Gastly and Haunter equal more candies!
- Pinap Berries: These are your best friends for this task. More candies per catch!
So, I had my Haunter, and I had, well, a decent amount of Gastly candies. It was 90. I checked the evolve button, and yep, it said I needed 100 candies to evolve it into Gengar. I only got 90 though, It took a long time just to catch these 90 candies, so I thought I was going to do more walking the next day.
Then, I remembered something about trading! I called up my buddy, Mark, who also plays. I told him I need more candies, but then he was like, “you can just trade it with me man!”
We met up, and I traded him my Haunter. The cool part? After the trade, the option to evolve Haunter into Gengar changed. Guess what? I didn’t have to get anymore candies after all. It was ready to evolve! I got my new Gengar.
So, the big takeaway for me? If you’re looking to evolve your Haunter, try trading first! It can save you a lot of time, effort and those precious candies!
