Okay, so I wanted to evolve my Haunter in Pokemon Go, and I gotta say, it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be. First things first, I caught a bunch of Gastlys. I mean, a LOT. I walked around my neighborhood, used some incense, and even went to a park that’s usually crawling with Ghost-types. The goal? Candy, candy, candy! You need 25 Gastly Candies to evolve it into a Haunter in the first place.
After, I don’t know, maybe an hour or two of hunting, I finally had enough. I picked my best Gastly (you know, the one with the highest CP and best stats), and I hit that evolve button. Boom! Haunter time!

Evolving into Gengar
But here’s the real kicker: getting that Haunter to become a Gengar. I figured, “Oh, probably just another bunch of candies, right?” Wrong. I did tap my newly-evolved pokemon Haunter.
-
Trade it or Collect 100 Candy
You have to choose a way to evolve haunter between trade and candy.
-
Choose a way
I don’t want spend more time to collect candies, so I tapped a trade button.
-
Ask Friends!
I asked my friends, luckily one friend had a haunter too.
-
Trading!
I met up with my friend. And We did trade each haunter!
-
Finally Evolve!
After trade, evolve button’s showed up! I tapped it!
So, there I was, with a Gengar! It’s a pretty cool feeling, especially since it took a little more effort than a regular evolution. No regrets, though, Gengar is totally worth it! And, the best part? I get to battle and train with a new, powerful, pokemon.
