Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Go lately, and I really wanted to beef up my Vileplume. It’s a cool Pokemon, but I felt like it wasn’t hitting as hard as it could. So, I decided to do a deep dive into the best moveset for it.
My Vileplume Adventure Begins
First, I caught a bunch of Oddish. Gotta get that candy, you know? I was walking around my local park, popping incense, and just grabbing every single one I could find. I even used some Pinap Berries to double up on the candy when I found a good one.

After a while, I finally had enough candy to evolve one into a Gloom and then into a Vileplume. I was pretty stoked, but then came the big question: which moves should I teach it?
Digging for the Best Moves
I spent a good chunk of time looking at different websites and forums. Lots of opinions out there, let me tell you! It can get a bit overwhelming. But I finally narrowed it down to a few key moves that seemed to be the most popular and effective.
I learned that, it’s mainly consider those two movesets:
- Razor Leaf and Sludge Bomb
- Acid and Moonblast
Putting the Moves to the Test
So, I used some TMs – those Charged TM and Fast TM things – to try and get the moves I wanted. It took a few tries, I won’t lie. RNG can be a pain, the item is hard to get! But eventually, I got a Vileplume with Razor Leaf and Sludge Bomb. I was pretty happy with that because I like to hit hard and deal as much damage as possible.
Then I started battling! I took my Vileplume to some raids, used it against Team Rocket grunts, and even tried it out in the Go Battle League. I wanted to see how it performed in different situations.
The Final Verdict
After all that battling, I can confidently say that Razor Leaf and Sludge Bomb is a pretty killer combo for Vileplume, at least for me. It deals a ton of damage, especially against those pesky Grass and Fairy types. It is satifying to beat those pokemons.
Of course, your experience might be different, and other movesets for example with Acid and Moonblast might be better. But for my playstyle, this Vileplume setup is working wonders. Happy hunting, trainers!
