Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Marvel Snap, and I gotta say, the Ka-Zar deck, or “Kazoo” as it’s affectionately known, is a blast. I wanted to share my experience building and playing it, ’cause it’s been a wild ride.
Getting Started with Kazoo
First off, I needed to get my hands on the core cards. Obviously, Ka-Zar himself is essential. He’s the guy who buffs all your 1-Cost cards, making them way more powerful than they look. Then there’s Blue Marvel, who gives a boost to all your cards. These two are the backbone of the whole strategy.

Next, I started collecting a bunch of 1-Cost cards. The more, the merrier! Some of my favorites early on were:
- Ant-Man: Gets stronger if you fill the location.
- Squirrel Girl: Creates more 1-Cost squirrels. More bodies on the board!
- Elektra: Can snipe an opponent’s 1-Cost card, which can be surprisingly disruptive.
- Nightcrawler: Can move once, which is handy for getting into tricky locations.
Building the Deck
The basic idea is to flood the board with cheap 1-Cost cards, then buff them up with Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel. I spent some time just throwing cards together, seeing what felt good. It was pretty messy at first! I’d win some, lose some, and learn something new every match.
One thing I realized pretty quickly was that I needed some way to protect my little guys. So, I added Armor. She stops your cards at a location from being destroyed, which is super important against decks that run Killmonger (who wipes out all 1-Cost cards – a Kazoo player’s worst nightmare!).
The Grind and Tweaks
I played a ton of games. I mean, a LOT. I started tracking which cards felt useful and which ones were just sitting in my hand. I swapped out some of the weaker 1-Cost cards for things like:
- Yondu:Destorys the top card of my opponents deck.
- Angela: Gains power every card I added to the location.
I also realized I needed something for late-game power. Just in case my 1-Cost army wasn’t enough. I experimented with a few options, but eventually settled on Onslaught. He doubles the ongoing effects of Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel. And the power the deck can reach is really high!
My Current Kazoo Deck
It’s still a work in progress, of course, but here’s what I’m rocking right now:
- Ant-Man
- Elektra
- Nightcrawler
- Squirrel Girl
- Yondu
- Angela
- Armor
- Ka-Zar
- Blue Marvel
- Onslaught
It’s not perfect, but it’s been climbing the ranks pretty well. I have some games, and some games I have no chance. But always funny and exciting!
Final Thoughts
Building and playing the Kazoo deck has been a journey of constant experimentation and learning. It’s taught me a lot about card synergy, board management, and the importance of adapting to different opponents. It’s a fun, fast-paced deck that can be surprisingly powerful. If you’re looking for something different to try in Marvel Snap, give Kazoo a shot! It’s a chaotic good time.
