Okay, so yesterday, I decided to check out this place called Irongate Berry Farm. I’d heard some buzz about it – you know, fresh berries, supposed to be a fun outing. I figured, why not? Let’s do this!
Getting There
First things first, I had to find the place. I just pulled out my phone and used maps to find the best route. Punched in “Irongate Berry Farm” and boom, directions popped up. It wasn’t too far, maybe a 30-minute drive from my place. Pretty easy, straight shot down the highway for a bit.

Picking Those Berries
Once I got there, I saw they had a deal where you grab a bucket and just go to town picking your own berries. They had rows and rows of strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, all ripe and lookin’ good.
I grabbed the largest bucket.
I started with the strawberries because, well, who doesn’t love a good strawberry?
- Strawberries: These were the easiest to spot, bright red and juicy. I just gently pulled them off the stem, trying not to squish ’em.
- Raspberries: Next up, raspberries. These were a little trickier, kinda hidden under the leaves. Had to be careful not to poke myself on the thorns, too.
- Blueberries: Finally, blueberries. These grew on bigger bushes, and I just rolled them off with my thumb and forefinger. Super satisfying.
The Weigh-In and Checkout
After about an hour, I will get a big bucket that full of * I strolled over to the checkout area. They had this scale where you put your bucket, and they charge you by the weight. Mine came out to be a pretty decent haul, not gonna lie.
The Taste Test
Got home, washed the berries, and, oh man, they were amazing. Seriously, way better than the ones you get at the store. Super sweet, juicy, and just bursting with flavor. The strawberries were my favorite, but the raspberries and blueberries were also delicious.
All in all, it was a fun day out. I love to enjoy fresh air and eating delicious food that I picked by myself.
I’d definitely recommend checking out Irongate Berry Farm if you’re looking for something chill to do and want some killer berries. Just remember, wear comfy shoes and prepare to get your hands a little dirty!
