Okay, so I’ve been playing a ton of Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately. And I decided, “You know what? My island needs more red!” Not just any red, though. I wanted those gorgeous, deep red cosmos flowers. I had a few, but not nearly enough to make the kind of impact I was going for.
So, I started my grand red cosmos breeding project. My first step? Figuring the hell out how it even works, I remembered something about needing to plant flowers diagonally, I planted some orange and white cosmos diagonally.

The Waiting Game (Ugh)
Now, the waiting. This is probably the least fun part. I watered those flowers every. single. day.
The days kinda blurred together. Water, check for new buds, water, check, water… you get the idea. My watering can felt like an extension of my arm. I am sure my in game character will be really tired about this, and be thinking about change a new job…
Finally, Some Progress!
After what felt like forever (it was probably like, a week, maybe a bit more), I started seeing some black cosmos pop up! And there it is! the red cosmos is comming!
I kept at it. Watering, rearranging, making sure those hybrids had plenty of space. I did the same thing, water, check for new buds, water, check, water. I even started talking to the flowers, not gonna lie. “Come on, little buddies, give me some more!”
Red Cosmos Everywhere!
And, finally, success! That will be a very unforgetable time, that morning, I woke up and see a sea of red cosmos!! I kept to do it, finally I had enough red cosmos to decorate a big chunk of my island. It took patience, a whole lot of watering. I very enjoy to see my island is getting better!
