Alright, so I finally decided to tackle the “Hand in Hand” quest in Destiny 2. It’s been sitting in my quest log for a while, and I figured it was time to get it done. Honestly, I put it off because, well, it involved Gambit, and I’m not the biggest Gambit fan.
First thing I did was jump into the Gambit playlist. I knew I needed a bunch of kills, and specifically, I needed to get them with a hand cannon. Luckily, I have a pretty decent roll on my favorite hand cannon.

My first few matches were…rough. Let’s just say my teammates weren’t exactly thrilled with my hand cannon focus. I was probably costing us some motes, but hey, gotta get those kills, right?
- Game 1:Barely got any progress. We lost. Badly.
- Game 2:Slightly better, but still a loss. I started to question my life choices.
- Game 3:Finally started getting the hang of it. Used the environment a bit more, paid attention to my radar. We still lost, but I felt my progress, at least.
After a few more matches, I managed to get a significant chunk of progress on the first step. It took me, like, 5 or 6 matches in total. I think it helps to change to other weapons to fight back the invaders。
The Invader Part. Oh Boy.
Then came the part I was dreading: invading and getting hand cannon kills. Ugh. Invading is not my strong suit. I’m usually the one getting blasted by invaders, not the other way around.
I equipped my best heavy weapon and prayed to the Traveler for some luck. My first invasion? Total disaster. Got sniped before I even saw anyone. Second invasion? Same story. I was starting to think this quest was cursed.
But, I kept at it. I started to get a little more aggressive, a little more sneaky. I used my super a couple of times, which helped. Slowly, very slowly, I started to get those invader kills.
- Invade 1 to 5: failure.
- Invade 6: got 1 kill.
- Invade 7 to 10: one or two kill per invade.
It took way longer than I’d like to admit, a couple of hours, but I did it! I finished all stages and then claim the rewards.
So, yeah, that’s my “Hand in Hand” story. It wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t quick, but it’s done. Now I can finally move on to something else… probably something that doesn’t involve Gambit.
