Okay, so I’ve been totally hooked on Animal Crossing: New Horizons lately. And you know what’s been driving me nuts? Filling up that darn museum! Specifically, getting all the artwork. So, I decided to really dig in and figure out how to get all those “common paintings” that Redd keeps trying to sell me (and some that are, you know, not so common, haha).
My “Common Painting” Adventure Begins
First, I learned the basics. I mean, I thought I knew, but turns up,there is a detail. There are a bunch of paintings that are always genuine – no fakes! These are the “common” ones, and they’re the easiest to get, theoretically. I made a list, just so I wouldn’t get confused:

The Redd Grind
Next, it was all about Redd. That sneaky fox! I started checking my island every day for his boat. I talked to my villagers, too, because sometimes they’ll mention if he’s around. It’s a pain, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do for art, right?
When Redd was around, I made sure to go in with my list.I Carefully compared, then I bought the real ones. Sometimes, he’d have more than one common painting, which was awesome! Other times, it was all fakes. Super frustrating, but part of the game.
The Waiting Game (and Time Travel…Shhh!)
After buying from Redd, it was a waiting game. The painting arrives in the mail the next day. I ran to my mailbox every morning, hoping for a new masterpiece. Then, it was off to Blathers at the museum to donate it! Seeing those exhibit halls fill up is so satisfying.
Okay, I’ll admit it… sometimes I got impatient. I might have… adjusted my Switch’s clock a little. Just a day or two forward, to speed things up. Don’t judge! It’s all for the sake of completing the museum, okay? 😉
The Final Stretch!
Slowly but surely, I’ve been getting those paintings,I checked my list,I found I almost got them *’s a grind, for sure, but totally worth it. My museum is looking amazing, and I’m feeling pretty proud of my art collection. Now, if only I could get those statues… that’s a whole other story!
