Okay, ROM and patch acquired. Now, to actually combine them. For this, I used a tool. There are a few out there.

Finally, I loaded up the patched ROM on my emulator. And… it worked! Started a new game, and yup, it’s definitely Emerald Plus. More Pokemon, different trainers, tweaked difficulty – the whole shebang. Felt good, man. Like I accomplished something, even though it’s just a video game.
