Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show lately, and one thing that always keeps me hooked is the player updates. I wanted to document my process for staying on top of these changes, so here’s how I usually go about it.
Gotta Check the Game Itself
First things first, I fire up the game. Usually, when you launch MLB The Show, it’ll prompt you to download the latest roster update if there is one. It’s usually super obvious, you can’t miss it. So I made sure to download and install that.

Digging into the Details
After making the update, I wanted to see the specifics. What I did was:
- I headed to the main menu.
- I Found the roster section.
- I Navigated through and started comparing players I use frequently. I focused on a few of my favorite pitchers and hitters to see if their stats had changed.
Documenting the Changes
To really keep track, I like to make my own notes. So, this time I:
- Opened up a simple text document on my computer.
- Started jotting down the names of players whose ratings had noticeably changed.
- Noted the before and after stats. Nothing fancy, just like “Player X: OVR 85 -> 88, Hitting 70 -> 75”.
For example i write some player name,and note like “Player X: OVR 85 -> 88, Hitting 70 -> 75”.
Putting it all Together
Finally, I wanted to test out the changes. This meant:
- I Jumped into a quick game.
- Selected the players I had noted to see how they felt in-game.
- Pay Attention to did their performance match their updated stats?
I played a few innings, really focusing on how the updated players felt. Did the pitcher’s fastball seem faster? Did the hitter make better contact? This part is all about feel, and it helps me adjust my strategies in the game.
That’s pretty much my routine for handling player updates in MLB The Show. It’s not super scientific, but it helps me stay informed and adjust my gameplay accordingly. It’s all about staying on top of the changes and enjoying the game!
