Alright, folks, let’s talk about something I messed around with today – MLB The Show player updates. I’m no pro gamer, but I do love firing up The Show and seeing how my favorite players are doing.
So, first things first, I booted up my PlayStation. Gotta make sure everything’s connected and the internet’s behaving. Nothing worse than getting ready to dive in and then…BAM…internet outage. Thankfully, smooth sailing there.

Getting Started
Next, I launched MLB The Show. Waited for the usual intro stuff, you know, the splash screens and all that. Then I navigated to the roster section. Usually, it prompts you for an update right away, but sometimes you gotta go digging for it.
Finding the Updates
This time, I had to poke around a bit. I went into the roster control section, and then I think I had to hit…R2? Or maybe it was R1? My memory’s a little fuzzy on that part. Anyway, I found the option to download the latest roster update.
The Download Process
Clicked on that, and the download started. It wasn’t super fast, but it wasn’t dial-up slow either. Took maybe…five minutes? Enough time to grab a drink and stretch my legs. I always get antsy waiting for these things to finish. I just wanna see the new ratings!
Checking Out the Changes
Once it finished, I hopped into a quick exhibition game. I picked my team (Go Sox!) and started scrolling through the roster. I was mostly looking to see if any of the players I’ve been following had any big changes. You know, did anyone get a huge boost, or maybe take a nosedive in the ratings?
I noticed a couple of small changes. Nothing earth-shattering, but it’s cool to see the game reflecting what’s happening in real life. It’s like, you watch a guy have a killer week, and then you see his stats go up in the game. Pretty neat!
Wrapping Up
Overall, it was a pretty simple process. Nothing too complicated. Download the update, check out the changes, and get back to playing. The hardest part is probably just remembering where the heck the update option is hidden in the menus. It’s like they move it around just to keep us on our toes!
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with MLB The Show player updates. Not exactly rocket science, but it’s a fun way to keep the game feeling fresh. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a game to finish!
