Okay, so I’ve been grinding MyCareer in NBA 2K23, and like everyone else, I was desperate for that perfect, green-release jumpshot. I heard a lot of buzz about the 2klabs data, so I figured I’d give it a shot and document my whole experience.
Digging into the Data
First things first, I spent some time looking at what 2klabs had to offer. I really focused in on the best overall. I noticed that they update their stuff pretty regularly, so I made sure to check the latest recommendations.

Next, I started trying things out. I went into the Gatorade facility, found and empty court and started shooting around.
- Base: I tried the ones they rated top, taking my player build into consideration (I’m a 6’6″ Playmaking Shot Creator). I must have shot a hundred shots with the ones that had high ratings.
- Release 1 & 2: This is where it got interesting. I experimented with different combinations, blending them to try and find that sweet spot. I paid attention to the release speed, height, and how comfortable it felt. It’s kind of like mixing ingredients in a recipe, you gotta find the right balance.
Finding “The One” (or at Least, a Really Good One)
After what felt like forever, I finally settled on a combination that worked for me. It wasn’t exactly what 2klabs recommended, but it was close, and I tweaked it to my liking. It had a good release speed, a nice arc, and most importantly, I could green it consistently. Here’s what I ended up with(This will depend on the latest patch/update, so double-check!):

- My Release 2:I forgot to write it down.
The numbers say it all. I went from shooting a shaky percentage to hitting way more consistently. It felt good. I can now confidently say that I can green in the game.
Important Considerations
My final piece of advice? Don’t just blindly copy what 2klabs (or anyone else) says. Use their data as a starting point, but ultimately, find what feels best for you. Your timing, your playstyle, your build… it all matters. And, don’t be afraid to keep experimenting! The meta changes, and your perfect jumpshot might evolve with it.
