Alright guys, so I ran into this annoying issue with Dark and Darker not installing, and let me tell you, it was a real pain. I figured I’d share my struggle and how I finally got it working, in case any of you are pulling your hair out over the same problem.
The Initial Frustration
So, I grabbed Dark and Darker, excited to jump in, and… nothing. The installation just wouldn’t start. I clicked, and clicked, and still nothing. No error messages, no progress bar, just… nothing. I was starting to think my PC was just being stubborn.

Troubleshooting Steps
First thing I did was the classic “turn it off and on again”. I restarted my computer, hoping that would magically fix things. Nope. Still stuck.
Next, I checked my internet connection, because, you know, sometimes it’s the simple things. My internet was fine, streaming videos no problem. So it wasn’t that.
- I checked if there was anything interfering the background programms, such as Antivirus, Firewall and closed them to try again.
- I made sure my Windows was up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause weird issues. I went into my settings and checked for updates. There were a few, so I installed those and rebooted again.
The Solution (Finally!)
I found a installation guide on official website.
Make sure following requirements are satisfied.
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10, 11
- Processor: 3.0 GHz Quad Core CPU
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM or Radeon RX 580 with 4GB of VRAM
- DirectX: Version 11
Turns out,I forgat to check my driectX version.
After I updated driectX to version 11,the installation suddenly started working, and I was finally able to get into the game.
Wrapping Up
It was a bit of a headache, to be honest. If you are having similar issue, check the requirements that I listed.
Hopefully, this helps someone out there avoid the same frustration I went through. Happy gaming, everyone!
