Okay, so I’ve been playing Pokemon Go for a while now, and I always get excited about new Raid bosses. When I heard Giratina was back, I knew I had to get in on that action. Altered Forme, sure, but still cool. So, here’s how my Giratina raid day went down.
First, I checked my local Discord group. Gotta find people to raid with, right? No way I’m soloing a Giratina. Luckily, a few people were already planning to meet up at the park near my place.

Getting Ready
Before I even left the house, I made sure I had my battle team ready.I spent time preparing.
- Picked my strongest counters. Lots of Dragon types, because, you know, Giratina’s a Dragon and Ghost type.
- Powered up a few key Pokemon. Gotta maximize that damage!
- Stocked up on Revives and Potions. You never know how many times your Pokemon might faint.
- Charged my phone! Nothing worse than your phone dying mid-raid.
The Raids Begin!
I headed to the park and met up with the other trainers. We were a pretty good group, about 8 of us, which is more than enough for a Giratina * used a Remote Raid Pass, so we didn’t even have to be at the same gym.
The first raid… We crushed it! Giratina went down pretty fast. I used my powered-up Dragonite and a couple of other strong Dragon types. I got some good throws in, and boom! Caught it! Not the best IVs, but hey, a Giratina is a Giratina.
We decided to hit up a few more gyms in the area. We walked around, chatting and catching Pokemon along the way. It was a good time, even when we weren’t raiding.
The second raid was a bit tougher. For some reason, this Giratina seemed to hit harder. A few of our Pokemon fainted, but we still managed to take it down. And guess what? I caught this one too! This time, the IVs were a little better, so I was pretty stoked.
Wrapping Up
After a couple of hours, and a few more successful raids (and a few that got away – darn you, Giratina!), I called it a day. My phone battery was getting low, and I was pretty tired from all the walking.
Overall, it was a great Giratina raid day. I caught a few, made some new friends, and got some good exercise. Can’t wait for the next big raid event!
