Alright, guys, so I’ve been messing around with Pokemon Go again lately, and you know how it is – sometimes you just really want to catch that rare Pokemon that’s, like, on the other side of the world. So, I went down the rabbit hole of “teleporting” in Pokemon Go. Let me tell you, it’s a bit of a wild ride.
My Shaky Start
First, I gotta say, I’m not a tech wizard. I can barely set up a new Wi-Fi router without calling my nephew. So, the whole idea of spoofing my GPS location seemed… daunting. But, hey, gotta catch ’em all, right?

I started by doing some digging online. Found a bunch of forums and videos talking about different apps and methods. Honestly, most of it went straight over my head. Terms like “rooting,” “jailbreaking,” and “mock locations” – it was like a whole new language.
The First (Failed) Attempts
I tried a couple of free apps first. Seemed like the easiest route, right? Wrong! Most of them were either super buggy, didn’t work at all, or just felt… sketchy. Like, I half expected my phone to start sprouting pop-up ads every five seconds.
One app actually did move my little character on the map, but it was so jerky and obvious that I’m pretty sure I got a soft ban within, like, an hour. Oops. Lesson learned: free and easy isn’t always the best way to go.
Getting a Little More Serious
After striking out with the free stuff, I decided to bite the bullet and try a paid app. I figured, if I’m gonna risk getting my account banned, I might as well do it with something that at least might work.
I found one app and Install it . The setup was still a bit of a pain. I had to enable developer options on my phone, mess with some settings I didn’t really understand, and pray I didn’t brick my device. But eventually, I got it working.
Teleportation Success (Kind Of)
And… it worked! I was suddenly standing in the middle of Central Park in New York City (even though I was actually sitting on my couch in my pajamas). I spun some PokeStops, caught a few Pokemon, and felt like a total digital nomad.
The app had all sorts of features, like setting a custom walking speed, using a joystick to move around, and even pre-setting routes. It was pretty slick, I gotta admit.
The risks.
But and is a very big BUT! I have to say all of this playing style is against the pokemon go rule and may get baned.
- Soft bans: these are temporary, and can be as short as 15 minutes.
- Shadow Bans A shadow ban prevents you from seeing any rare Pokemon on the map.
- Permanent BanIf you’ve received three strikes, your account will be permanently terminated.
My Final Thoughts
So, yeah, I managed to “teleport” in Pokemon Go. It was fun for a bit, but honestly, the anxiety of getting banned kind of outweighed the excitement. Plus, it felt a little… cheaty. I mean, the whole point of the game is to get out and explore, right?
If you’re thinking about trying this, I’d say proceed with caution. Do your research, understand the risks, and be prepared for the possibility of losing your account. Maybe stick to catching those Pidgeys in your own neighborhood – it’s a lot less stressful, I promise.
