Okay, so I’ve been a huge Madden fan forever, and I ran into this whole “Madden 18 servers” thing recently. Thought I’d share my experience, might help someone out there.
Getting Started
First off, I fired up my old Xbox One. I hadn’t touched it in ages, and it took, like, forever to update. I mean, seriously, I could’ve gone out and bought a new console in the time it took. Patience is a virtue, they say.

The Problem
Once everything was updated, I popped in Madden 18. Went straight to Ultimate Team – that’s where the action is, right? – and BAM! Couldn’t connect to the EA servers. Tried it a few times, same deal. My internet was working fine, I checked that, so it had to be something with the game.
Digging Around
So, I started poking around online, forums, Reddit, the usual spots. Turns out, I wasn’t the only one. Lots of folks were saying the same thing: Madden 18 servers were down, maybe for good.
I read some comment, EA shut down the servers for some older Madden games. Makes sense, I guess. They want everyone to buy the new one, standard operation.
The Reality Check
It hit me, they were doing it for business. I get it, gotta push the new product. But still, it kinda sucks. I had some killer players on my Madden 18 Ultimate Team!
Moving On
I accepted that my Madden 18 online days were probably over.
I guess it’s just the way it goes with these online games. They don’t last forever. Sad, but, that’s reality. I did play some offline exhibition games, It’s still fun to play.
