Alright, so I’ve been playing a ton of Pokemon Go lately, and my Gardevoir has become one of my absolute favorites. But I wanted to make sure I had the best possible moveset for it, you know, to really maximize its potential in raids and battles. So I did a little digging and experimenting, and here’s what I came up with:
My Quest for the Perfect Gardevoir Moveset
First, I caught a bunch of Ralts. Gotta start with the basics, right? It took a while, but I finally snagged a few with good IVs. I evolved the best one into Kirlia, and then finally into that beautiful Gardevoir.

Next up, I started checking out what moves were even available. I learned that Gardevoir can learn a variety of Fast Moves and Charged Moves, some Fairy-type, some Psychic-type, and even a few surprises.
-
For Fast Moves, I saw options like Confusion (Psychic) and Charm (Fairy).
-
The Charged Moves were even more diverse: Psychic, Shadow Ball, Dazzling Gleam, Thunderbolt, and Synchronoise.
Experimenting and Making Decision
I started trying out different combinations. At first, I went with Confusion and Psychic, thinking a full Psychic-type set would be strong. It did alright, but I felt like I was missing something.
Then I experimented with Charm as the Fast Move. Wow, what a difference! Charm hits hard, even against Pokemon that resist Fairy-type attacks. It felt way more powerful than Confusion, especially for building up energy for my Charged Move.
For the Charged Move, I tried out a few. Psychic was okay, but a bit redundant with Charm dealing so much Fairy-type damage. Dazzling Gleam was also good as secondary Fairy-type, but it took a long time to charge up.
Finally, I landed on Shadow Ball. I thought it would be just ok but Shadow Ball gives Gardevoir some great coverage against Ghost and Psychic-type Pokemon, which are common threats in the game. Plus, it charges up relatively quickly, especially with Charm powering it up.
The Winning Combination
After all that experimenting, I settled on this moveset for my Gardevoir:
- Fast Move: Charm
- Charged Move: Shadow Ball
This combo has been working wonders for me. Charm deals consistently high damage, and Shadow Ball provides that crucial coverage. I’ve been taking down gyms and winning raids much more easily now.
Of course, movesets can depend on your specific needs and what Pokemon you’re facing. But for a general-purpose, powerful Gardevoir, I highly recommend giving Charm and Shadow Ball a try!
