Okay, so today I decided to tackle Genesect raids in Pokémon GO. I’ve been needing a good one for a while, and with the current event, it seemed like the perfect time.
First thing I did was check the local Discord group. Gotta find people to raid with, you know? No way I’m soloing a Genesect. Thankfully, a few people were already planning a raid train downtown, so I hopped in my car and headed over.

Gathering the Troops
- Checked local Discord for raid groups.
- Found a group heading downtown.
- Drove to the meet-up spot.
We met up at a park with a bunch of gyms. There were about eight of us, which is a pretty solid group for these raids. Everyone was friendly, chatting about their recent catches and comparing IVs. It’s always fun raiding with a good group of people.
We started hitting the gyms, taking down Genesect after Genesect. My usual raid team is pretty strong – a mix of fire types. Mega Charizard Y is my go-to, it makes a noticable difference.
The Raids Begin!
The first few raids went smoothly. We took down the Genesects quickly, no problem. I was using my usual counters, and everyone else seemed to have solid teams too. The throws could use some work, lots of great and excellent attempts, but those suckers move around a lot.
After about five raids, I finally got a good one! It wasn’t a hundo, but the IVs were pretty solid, definitely worth powering up. I used a few Golden Razz Berries and made sure to get Excellent throws. Took a few tries, but I finally caught it!
Success (and Some Disappointments)
We kept raiding for another hour or so. I ended up doing eight raids in total. Caught six Genesects, which isn’t bad. One ran, felt pretty bummed but the other trainers were super supportive and chill, which helped.
- Did a total of 8 raids.
- Caught 6 Genesects.
- Got 1 really good IV Genesect.
Overall, it was a pretty successful raid day. Got a good Genesect, met some cool people, and had a lot of fun. Now it’s time to power up that Genesect and get it ready for battle!
