Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Madden 23, trying to figure out the whole throwing animation thing. It’s been a journey, let me tell you!
I started out, like most folks, just using the default settings. I was throwing picks left and right, my quarterback looked like he was tossing watermelons, and I was getting sacked constantly. It was rough.
Then, I started digging into the settings. I’d heard whispers about different throwing styles, so I decided to experiment. First I had to find the setting to change it. I clicked so many settings and menu options I thought my control was going to wear down. So many options it’s crazy!
My Experimentation process
I tried a bunch of different ones:
- Traditional: Felt slow, like my QB was winding up forever. Nope.
- Slinger: This one was interesting. It felt faster, but sometimes the ball went… well, not where I wanted it to. Too wild.
- Gunslinger:I want to make it clear there is a difference between “Slinger” and “Gunslinger”. Gunslinger was a little too powerful.
So, I messed with the “classic” option in settings for a while. But when I went back to it, It felt, I don’t know, clunky. Like my QB was stuck in slow motion. I needed something quicker, more responsive.
After countless games, tweaking settings, and yelling at my TV, I started to get a feel for it. It’s about finding that sweet spot, that animation that works for your playstyle. You need to practice, fail, practice and fail, and it will finally click. You’ll know when you’ve got the animations, when you find it.
The biggest thing is timing. The animation is one part, but if your release is off, it doesn’t matter what style you’re using. You gotta learn to read the defense, anticipate your receivers, and release the ball before they make their break. It’s all about practice, practice, practice.
So, if you’re struggling with your throwing game in Madden 23, don’t give up! Keep experimenting, keep practicing, and you’ll find the animation that works best for you. It might take a while, but it’s worth it when you finally start threading those needles and throwing dimes all over the field.
I’m still working on it, I’m still learning the game, but this is what I learned so far.
