Alright, so I wanted to mess around with Liverpool in FIFA 23. I’m a big fan, so I figured, why not see how they handle in the game?
First, I fired up the game and navigated to the quick play modes. I selected “Kick Off” so I could get straight into a match.

Choosing the Teams
Next, I obviously picked Liverpool as my team. I think by default, I am assigned a home team, I selected my favorite team, Liverpool. For the opponent, I wanted a decent challenge, but not someone too crazy, I ended up selecting Man City.
Setting Up
- I checked the team formations and made a few tweaks. I wanted to try out a slightly more attacking formation, so I switched to a 4-3-3 false 9.
- Then I adjusted the game settings. I set the difficulty to “Professional” because I didn’t want to get destroyed, but I also wanted a bit of a challenge.
- I also, made sure that I was familiar with my controller.
Playing the Match
The match started, and I immediately tried to play my usual style – quick passes, wing play, and getting the ball to Salah and Diaz. Liverpool’s front line is pretty awesome in the game, so I was able to create some good chances.
I scored a couple of early goals, one with Salah cutting in from the right and another with a header from Nunez. I got to admit, it felt pretty good!
Man City fought back, of course. They managed to pull one back before halftime. The second half was tighter, and I had to focus on defending a bit more. I made some tactical substitutions around the 70th minute, bringing on some fresh legs to help see out the game.
In the end, I won 3-1. It was a fun match, and Liverpool felt really good to control. Their players are well-represented in the game, and it’s satisfying to pull off some nice moves and score some goals with them.
That all I have, It was just a quick session, but it definitely made me want to play more with Liverpool in FIFA 23.
