Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this new FC 24 game, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride trying to get Christian Pulisic to work for me. I’m no pro, but I figured I’d share my little adventure here, just in case anyone else is scratching their heads over this too.
Getting Started
First off, I jumped into Ultimate Team, ’cause that’s where all the fun is, right? I snagged a Pulisic card pretty early on. I was stoked, thinking, “Yeah, this guy’s gonna be a beast on the wing!”

My Initial Plan
I’m a big fan of the 4-3-3 formation, so I slotted Pulisic in as my left winger. I figured his pace and dribbling would be killer for cutting inside and banging in some goals. I paired him up with a solid striker and a decent right winger, thinking we’d be unstoppable.
The Reality Check
Boy, was I wrong! Pulisic just wasn’t clicking. He’d get muscled off the ball, his shots were all over the place, and don’t even get me started on his passing. I was pulling my hair out! I tried a bunch of different tactics, quick build-up, long balls, you name it. Nothing seemed to work.
Experiment Time
So, I decided to get a little creative. Maybe the 4-3-3 wasn’t his jam. I switched to a 4-2-3-1, putting him as an attacking mid, thinking he could be more of a playmaker.
- Formation Change: Swapped from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1.
- Position Tweaks: Moved Pulisic to CAM.
- Custom Tactics: Focused on short passing and possession play.
- Player Instructions: Set Pulisic to “Free Roam” to let him find space.
A Glimmer of Hope
This was a bit better. He was getting on the ball more, making some decent passes, but still not quite the superstar I was hoping for. I even tried him as a second striker in a 4-4-2, but that was a total disaster.
Finding the Sweet Spot
Finally, after a ton of trial and error, I think I cracked the code. I went back to the 4-3-3, but this time, I played him on the right wing. I know, I know, it’s not his natural side, but hear me out. I set his instructions to “Cut Inside” and “Get In Behind.”
And bam! It finally started working. He was using his pace to get down the line, cutting inside, and actually scoring some goals. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a huge improvement. I also changed up my custom tactics to support a more balanced attack, not just relying on Pulisic.
The Takeaway
So, what did I learn from all this? Well, sometimes you gotta think outside the box. Pulisic in FC 24, at least for me, wasn’t a plug-and-play star. It took some experimenting, a lot of patience, and a willingness to try some weird stuff to get him going. And even then, he’s not gonna carry your team single-handedly. It’s all about finding the right balance, the right formation, and the right tactics to make him shine. It’s a team game, after all.
Anyways, that’s my Pulisic story in FC 24. Hopefully, this helps someone out there. It’s a frustrating but rewarding feeling when you finally figure out how to make a player work for you. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some more games to play!
