Alright, so I’ve been messing around with Froslass in Pokemon lately, trying to figure out the best moveset for this icy gal. It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
First off, I started by throwing Froslass into some battles with just whatever moves it had. You know, the usual stuff you get when you catch or evolve a Pokemon. I quickly realized that wasn’t gonna cut it. Froslass is pretty frail, so if I didn’t hit hard and fast, it was gonna get knocked out before it could do much of anything.

So, I did what any reasonable person would do – I started experimenting. I tried a bunch of different moves, swapping them in and out to see what worked. I learned pretty early on that Shadow Ball is a must-have. It’s Froslass’s strongest STAB (Same-type attack bonus) move, and it hits pretty hard against a lot of things. No brainer there.
Next, I started messing around with Ice-type moves. Ice Beam seemed like the obvious choice, right? Strong, reliable, good type coverage. And it worked pretty well, I won’t lie. But then I thought, what about Blizzard? It’s even stronger, but the accuracy is a bit shaky. After a few battles, I decided the risk was worth the reward, especially if I could get some accuracy boosts going. More damage output can’t be a bad thing, right?
- Shadow Ball – This is a must-have, no questions.
- Ice Beam/Blizzard – Ice Beam is reliable, Blizzard hits harder but is less accurate.
Now, for the other two moveslots, that’s where things got interesting. I knew I needed something to deal with those pesky Fighting-types that Froslass is weak to. Psychic seemed like a good option, but then I realized that Thunderbolt would also give me some coverage against Water-types, which are always a pain. Plus, it has a chance to paralyze, which is always nice.
Finally, I had to decide on that last moveslot. I tried a few things here – Destiny Bond, in case things went south, Hail to boost Blizzard’s accuracy, and even Spikes to set up some entry hazards. After a lot of back and forth, I found that Destiny Bond was the most useful. If Froslass is about to faint, it can take its opponent down with it, which can be a game-changer.
So, after all that experimenting, here’s the moveset I’ve settled on:
- Shadow Ball
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Destiny Bond
Final Thoughts
It took a while, but I think I’ve finally cracked the code for the best Froslass moveset. At least, it’s the best one I’ve found so far. This thing hits hard, has decent coverage, and can even pull off some sneaky tricks with Destiny Bond. If you’re looking to use Froslass in battle, give this moveset a try. You might be surprised at how effective it is.
