Alright, so, let’s talk about my little adventure with Marc Guehi in FIFA 23. It wasn’t exactly planned, but it turned into something pretty interesting.
I fired up FIFA 23, you know, just a regular evening gaming session. I was messing around in Career Mode, and I always like to scout for some young talent.

Finding the Gem
I stumbled upon Marc Guehi. He was playing for Crystal Palace. Decent stats, nothing mind-blowing, but he had that “potential” tag. I usually look for that, something you can work on and make a player much better. So, I thought, “Why not? Let’s give this guy a shot.” I put in a transfer offer, and boom, he was part of my squad. The stats at that time were around 75-77 and he was still young, only 22.
The Grind Begins
- First thing I did was to slot him into my starting lineup. I play a back four, and I paired him up with a more experienced center-back to help him learn the ropes.
- I made sure he was playing regularly. Every match, every cup game, I gave him as much playtime as possible. The more he played, the quicker he developed. I had to play a couple of seasons, he was not a starting player at first, but I had to be patient.
- Training sessions were crucial. I focused on his defensive drills – tackling, marking, interceptions, all that good stuff.
- I also worked on his physical attributes. Strength, jumping, stamina – these were important because he needed to be able to handle those big, strong strikers.
Seeing the Progress
It wasn’t overnight, but slowly, I started to see some real improvement. His rating began to creep up. From a 75, then to a 77, then 78. He was becoming more solid at the back, winning more headers, making crucial tackles.
One thing I noticed was his composure. He didn’t panic under pressure, even when facing top-class forwards. He was reading the game better, anticipating passes, and positioning himself well.
Becoming a Star
After a couple of seasons, Guehi had turned into a beast. His overall rating was up to 85. 85! He was a rock in my defense. Strong, fast, and intelligent. He was winning Player of the Match awards, and other clubs were starting to take notice. He was so good that I could sell my veteran star player and have some extra money for other talents.
I even got a few big-money offers for him, but I turned them down. He had become a key player for me, and I wasn’t ready to let him go.
So, yeah, that’s my Marc Guehi story in FIFA 23. It’s just a game, but it’s cool to see how you can take a player with potential and turn him into a superstar. It’s all about patience, consistent game time, and focused training. And maybe a little bit of luck, too, haha!
