Okay, so, I’ve been grinding away at League of Legends ranked again this year. They split the ranked season into two parts, and we’re now heading into the second split of 2024. I started off pretty rough, not gonna lie.
I jumped straight into my placement matches as soon as the new split kicked off. Big mistake. I was rusty, out of practice, and honestly, the competition felt way tougher than the first split. I think a lot of people were eager to climb, so it was a bloodbath.

- First few games, I was getting stomped. Like, really bad. I tried playing my main champions, but it just wasn’t working. People were coordinating better, making smarter plays, and I was constantly getting caught out.
- After a few losses, I started tilting. You know the feeling, right? You start blaming your teammates, making bad decisions out of frustration, and it just spirals. I decided to take a break for a day or two, clear my head.
- When I came back, I switched up my strategy. I started playing more cautiously, focusing on farming and scaling rather than trying to make flashy plays early on. I also started watching some high-level streams to pick up on new strategies and meta picks.
That helped a lot. I started winning more consistently, slowly climbing back up the ranks. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely more rewarding. I learned that taking the time to analyze your mistakes and adapt your gameplay is super important, especially at the start of a new split.
I’m still not where I want to be rank-wise, but I’m making progress. We’ll see where I end up by the end of the split.
Fingers crossed for some good games and hopefully, no more tilt!
