Okay, so I’ve been hooked on Pokemon Go again lately, and I really wanted to get my hands on a Golurk. You know, that big, imposing Ground/Ghost type? Yeah, that one. It just looks so cool, and I figured it would be a beast in raids and battles. So, I set out on a mission to catch one.
First thing I did was check if Golett, its pre-evolution, was spawning anywhere near me. I opened the app and scanned the “Nearby” radar. Nothing. Bummer. I walked around my neighborhood for a good hour, spinning every PokeStop I could find, hoping to maybe snag a Golett from a Field Research task or something. Still nothing. It was proving to be trickier than I thought.

Then I remembered, sometimes these rarer Pokemon show up in raids. I checked the raid tab, and bingo! There it was, a Golett raid happening a few blocks away. I grabbed my phone and hustled over there as fast as I could.
Luckily, there were a few other trainers already at the raid. We teamed up, and after a tough battle, we took down the Golett. I was so pumped! I used a Golden Razz Berry and threw an Ultra Ball, and boom, caught it on the first try! Beginner’s luck, maybe?
Now, I had the Golett, but I needed 50 Golett candies to evolve it into Golurk. I already had a few, but not nearly enough. So, I made the Golett my buddy Pokemon and started walking. And walking. And walking. Every few kilometers, I got a candy. I also used Pinap Berries every time I saw a Golett in the wild – which, thankfully, was a bit more frequent after that first raid.
- Walk with Golett as your buddy.
- Use Pinap Berries on wild Goletts.
- Participate in Golett raids when they pop up.
- Trade Goletts with friends for extra candies.
It took a few days, but I finally gathered enough candies. I hit that “Evolve” button, and watched as my little Golett transformed into the mighty Golurk! It was so satisfying. The animation was awesome, and there it stood, in all its glory, ready to battle.
Honestly, getting this Golurk was way more work than I initially expected, but totally worth it. It’s been crushing it in raids, and it’s just a cool Pokemon to have in my collection. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go take down some gyms with my new Golurk!
