Okay, here’s my experience with figuring out the worth of a Radiant Charizard card:
So, I got into collecting Pokemon cards a while back, just like everyone else seemed to. I wasn’t really serious about it, just grabbing packs here and there when I was at the store. One day, I pulled this shiny Charizard card – a Radiant Charizard, it’s called. I thought, “Cool,” and put it in a sleeve like I saw some other folks doing online.

A few weeks went by, and I started seeing people online freaking out about this card. Apparently, it was kind of a big deal? I had no clue. So, I started digging around to see what the fuss was about.
Checking Out Online Marketplaces
First, I hit up some of the big online marketplaces where people buy and sell cards. I saw a bunch of listings for Radiant Charizard, and the prices were all over the place. Some were listed for like ten bucks, others for way more. I was confused, to say the least.
- Looked at recent sales: I tried to find completed listings to see what people actually paid, not just what they were asking. This gave me a slightly better idea, but there was still a range.
- Checked the condition: I learned that the condition of the card matters a lot. Near mint, lightly played, heavy played, and then the grading.
Grading Companies
Then I found out about these grading companies. Apparently, you can send your card in, and they’ll give it a grade based on its condition, which can increase its value. Some of the ones I kept seeing mentioned were PSA, BGS, and CGC. But honestly, I didn’t really want to go through all that hassle, and it costs money too.
My Card’s Condition
I took a good look at my own Radiant Charizard. It seemed pretty much perfect to me, straight from the pack into a sleeve. But I’m no expert, so I figured it’s probably not a perfect “10” like some of those graded ones.
Figuring Out a Price
After all that research, I decided to just list my card online for what I thought was a fair price, considering the range of listings and the fact that mine was ungraded but in good shape. It wasn’t the highest price I saw, but it wasn’t the lowest either. I just wanted to get rid of it and make a little cash. I saw that the average price was around $20. But I thought I could get a bit more, so I listed it for $25.
Sold!
Guess what? It sold! Took a couple of days, but someone bought it. I carefully packaged it up like I saw in some YouTube videos and sent it off.
So, yeah, that’s my story of figuring out how much a Radiant Charizard is worth. It wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be, but I learned a lot along the way. It’s kind of a wild market out there for these cards!
