So, I’ve been playing a lot of League of Legends lately, mostly support, you know, the usual grind.
I tried out a bunch of different combos, but I just kept coming back to Rakan with certain ADCs. I mean, this guy is just nuts with the right partner.

First, I hooked up Rakan with Xayah. These two are practically made for each other. I used their synergy to dominate the bot lane. We started by harassing the enemy from level one, with Xayah’s feathers and Rakan’s Q. Then, once we hit level two, I engaged with Rakan’s W, knocking them up, and Xayah followed up with her E, rooting them in place. We got so many early kills this way, it wasn’t even funny.
Trying Other ADCs
Then I started experimenting with other ADCs. I paired Rakan with Kai’Sa a few times. This was also a killer combo. I engaged with W, Kai’Sa stacked her passive, and then boom, we bursted them down. I also found that Rakan’s shield and heal helped Kai’Sa survive in tough situations, allowing her to get her damage off.
- Xayah: I played about 20 games with this duo. We won lane in like 18 of them. Seriously.
- Kai’Sa: Maybe 15 games here. Less dominant than Xayah, but we still stomped a good 12 games.
- Others: I also tried Rakan with champs like Samira, Jhin, and even Miss Fortune. We had some success, but nothing like the first two.
After messing around with different builds and runes, I finally settled on something that felt really strong. I usually built Shurelya’s Battlesong for the extra movement speed, which made my engages even more deadly. For runes, I went with Guardian, Font of Life, Bone Plating, and Unflinching. This made me surprisingly tanky and allowed me to soak up a lot of damage for my ADC.
By the end of my little experiment, I was convinced that Rakan is one of the best supports in the game, especially with certain ADCs. I climbed from Gold to Platinum just by spamming him. So if you’re looking for a fun and effective support to play, give Rakan a try. You won’t regret it.
