Alright, so I’ve been messing around with FIFA 21 lately, specifically trying to get Ryan Kent to shine. He’s a beast on the left wing, but I wanted to see if I could take him to the next level.
First, I started a new career mode, obviously as Rangers. I figured that’s where Kent would be most comfortable, you know? Then I jumped straight into the tactics. I wanted him to be the focal point, so I went with a 4-3-3 formation, but with a twist.

- I set Kent’s instructions to “Cut Inside” and “Get In Behind.”
- I made sure the full-back on his side was set to “Overlap” to give him some space.
- I told the two central midfielders to “Cover Wing” to help out defensively when Kent was bombing forward.
Initially, it was a bit rough. He was scoring, sure, but not consistently. I realized I needed to tweak a few more things. I started messing with the custom tactics, sliding the “Fast Build Up” option up a bit. I also increased the “Players in Box” slider. The idea was to get the ball to Kent quicker and have more bodies in the area for him to either pass to or take a shot himself. I also changed my camera setting to pro camera following the player, which made me feel good and improved my gaming experience.
Training Days
Then came the training. I focused on Kent’s dribbling, shooting, and pace. Every week, I’d pick drills that targeted those specific areas. I made sure to get at least a B grade in each drill, but mostly went for As. It was a bit of a grind, but totally worth it.
After a few in-game months, it finally started to click. Kent was tearing it up. He was banging in goals from all angles, weaving through defenses like they weren’t even there. By the end of the first season, he was the top scorer in the league, and we won the title, also won the golden boot award by him.
I kept pushing him, kept tweaking the tactics, kept grinding those training sessions. And you know what? He just kept getting better. We won more trophies, he won more awards. It was insane.
So yeah, that’s my Ryan Kent story in FIFA 21. It took some time, some tinkering, and a lot of patience, but I managed to turn him into an absolute monster. If you’re a FIFA player, give it a try. It’s a blast!
