Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at Path of Exile for what feels like forever, and I finally hit the max level! It was a journey, let me tell you. I started out, like everyone else, completely clueless. I picked a class that sounded cool, I think it was a Witch, yeah, a Witch. I just started whacking things, following the quests, and picking up whatever shiny loot dropped.
At first, it was all pretty straightforward. I died a few times, sure, but I learned to dodge, figured out some basic skills, and kept moving forward. I remember getting really excited about finding my first unique item – it was some gloves, I think. They weren’t even that good, but hey, they were unique!

Then things started getting harder. I hit a wall around, oh, maybe level 40 or 50? I was getting my butt kicked left and right. I had no idea what I was doing wrong. My gear was probably trash, my skill tree was a mess, and I was just generally lost.
So, I did what any sensible person would do: I started reading stuff online. It was overwhelming! There are so many builds, so many strategies, so much to learn. But I found a few guides that looked promising, picked one that seemed fun, and decided to give it a shot.
I ended up re-rolling, creating a new character. This time, I went with a Marauder. It was a completely different playstyle, but I was following this guide pretty closely, so I felt more confident. I paid attention to the passive skill tree, focusing on the recommended nodes. I looked for specific gear affixes, learned about support gems, and even started to understand how the crafting system works, a little bit.
It was still tough, don’t get me wrong. But I was making progress. I was dying less, killing things faster, and actually understanding why. It was so satisfying to see my character getting stronger, not just from leveling up, but from making smart choices about gear and skills.
I spent hours farming specific areas, trying to get that perfect piece of gear. I traded with other players, which was a whole other learning experience. I joined a guild, ran maps with them, got advice, and shared my own experiences.
And then, finally, it happened. After countless hours, tons of deaths, and a whole lot of learning, I hit level 100. It was such a great feeling!
Here’s the rough breakdown of what I did:
- Started playing, picked a class, and just played the game intuitively.
- Hit a wall because I didn’t know what I was doing.
- Did some research and found some build guides.
- Re-rolled a new character and followed a guide.
- Focused on the passive skill tree, gear, and gems.
- Farmed for gear, traded with players, and joined a guild.
- Finally hit level 100!
It’s not easy to reach max level in Path of Exile. But man, it’s rewarding. The game is so deep, so complex, there’s always something new to learn. And that feeling when you finally reach the top? It’s worth all the effort.
So, yeah, that’s my story. I made it to level 100 in Path of Exile. I’m no expert, but I’ve learned a heck of a lot along the way. It was tough, and time consuming, but I am quite satisfied with the result. Now, I guess it’s time to start working on a new build…
