Alright, guys, so I’ve been grinding a ton of League lately, mostly solo queue, and I gotta say, the mid lane meta is kinda wild right now. I figured I’d put together a little tier list based on my experiences and what I’ve seen doing well. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion, your mileage may vary, and all that jazz.
Getting Started: The Grind Begins
First off, I jumped into a bunch of games, playing a mix of my comfort picks and some champs I don’t usually play. I wanted to get a real feel for the current state of the mid lane. I started with a few warm-up normals to shake off the rust, then dove headfirst into ranked.

Mid Lane Tier List in My Opinion
After all that playing, here’s what I came up with. Again this is my experience based on playing:
- S-Tier: These are the monsters of the mid lane right now.
- Akali: Still a beast. Her mobility and burst are just insane. I felt so powerful while playing her.
- Sylas: Ultimate stealing is just too good, especially in this meta with so many strong ults flying around. I stole a few ultimates and win the game.
- Zed: If you’re good with him, he’s unstoppable. I played a few games and I love him. His damage is crazy good.
- A-Tier: Really solid picks, can definitely carry.
- Yasuo: Always a strong choice if you can survive the early game. Windwall is a game-changer. I am pretty good at him and I won many games with him.
- LeBlanc: Super slippery and her burst is no joke. I had a bit of trouble using her effectively, need more practice.
- Katarina: High skill ceiling, but so rewarding when you get those resets. I saw some players use her like a monster, but I am not that good with her yet.
- B-Tier: Decent, can work well in the right hands.
- Ahri: Her charm is still great for picks, but she feels a bit weaker than before. I think she is okay, nothing special.
- Talon: Good for roaming and picking off squishies, but struggles against tanks. I am not very familiar with him.
- Fizz: Fun to play, but easily countered if the enemy team plays smart. I lost a lot of games while playing him, maybe I need more practice.
- C-Tier: These guys need some love, or maybe I just suck with them.
- Ryze: I don’t know, he just feels underwhelming right now. It is hard to win with him.
- Veigar: If you can scale, he’s a monster, but getting there is a real struggle. I always lose my lane when using him.
- Lux: Too easy to dodge her skillshots, and she’s super squishy. I am not good at playing her.
Analyzing the Results
So, what did I learn from this little experiment? A few things. First, assassins are still super strong in the mid lane. Mobility and burst are king. Second, some of the older champs are struggling a bit to keep up. And finally, the meta is constantly shifting, so it’s important to stay adaptable.
Wrapping Up
This was a fun little project. I definitely learned a lot about the current state of the mid lane and what’s working well. I recorded all of my games and plan on analyzing my own gameplay to get better. Hopefully, this tier list is helpful for some of you out there. Just remember, the best champ is the one you’re best at, so keep practicing and keep climbing!
Let me know what you guys think of my list. Am I totally off base? What are you guys having success with in the mid lane? Hit me up in the comments!
