Alright, let’s talk about Elden Root in Elder Scrolls Online. This place is a big deal in the game, a huge city built in and around this massive tree. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I headed over there with my character.
First off, getting there was a bit of a journey. I started in Grahtwood, which is where Elden Root is located. I’d already done a bunch of quests in the area, so I was pretty familiar with the landscape. I followed the main road south from Haven, which I’d liberated a while back. The path was pretty straightforward, but I kept getting sidetracked by these shiny resource nodes. You know how it is, gotta stock up on crafting materials!

As I got closer, the trees got even bigger, which is saying something in Grahtwood. You could see the giant Graht-oak that holds Elden Root from pretty far away. It’s seriously impressive. I reached the outskirts of the city and was immediately greeted by a bunch of merchants hawking their wares. There was a real hustle and bustle to the place, with players running around, doing their thing.
I decided to explore the city properly. I headed up the ramps into the tree itself. The inside is like a whole other world. There are platforms and walkways all around the inside of the trunk, with shops, homes, and everything else you’d expect in a city. I spent a good chunk of time just wandering around, checking out the different levels. I even found the wayshrine, which is super handy for getting back here quickly.
- Checked out the crafting stations – they’ve got everything you need here.
- Visited the bank and got my inventory sorted. Always a good idea to keep things tidy.
- Listened to some of the NPCs’ conversations. Some of them are pretty funny.
I also took on a few quests while I was there. One involved finding some lost cat, which led me on a chase all over the city. Another one had me dealing with some political intrigue, which was pretty interesting. Elden Root is the capital of the Aldmeri Dominion, so there’s always some drama going on. I helped a nice person in a quest, and received a big reward.
My impression of Elden Root
Honestly, Elden Root is one of my favorite cities in the game now. It’s just so unique and visually stunning. I love how it’s built into a giant tree, and there’s so much to see and do. Plus, it’s a major hub for players, so there’s always something going on. I’ll definitely be back here a lot.
Spent a lot of time there, and finally, I finished all the quests there, that was really a long journey, but I felt happy.
