Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this Destiny 2 thing, specifically trying to make some cool helmets for my Warlock character. It’s been a wild ride, let me tell you.
First off, I started by just diving into the game and checking out all the different Warlock helmets that already exist. I took a bunch of screenshots, studied the designs, and basically tried to get a feel for what makes a helmet look “Warlock-y,” you know?

Then, I dusted off my old sketchbook and started doodling. I’m no artist, but I managed to scribble down some rough ideas. I wanted something that looked both mystical and powerful, something that screamed “space wizard.” I played around with different shapes, trying to find something unique but still fitting within the Destiny universe.
After I had a few sketches I kinda liked, I decided to try my hand at 3D modeling. Now, I’m pretty new to this, so it was a lot of trial and error. I used some free software that I found online and just started experimenting. I watched a ton of tutorials, which helped a bit, but mostly I just muddled my way through. I started by building the basic shapes and worked my way toward completion.
- Blocked out the overall form of the helmet.
- Slowly added more details, like ridges, vents, and those glowing bits that Warlocks seem to love.
- Fiddled with the proportions until it looked halfway decent.
It was a slow process, and honestly, pretty frustrating at times. But I kept at it, and eventually, I had something that resembled a helmet. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine.
Next up was texturing. This is where things got really interesting. I wanted to give my helmet a worn, battle-hardened look, like it had seen some serious action. I experimented with different materials and colors, trying to find the right combination.
Finally, after many a long night, I finished it. I even managed to get it to sort of glow in the dark. It turned out way better than I expected, to be honest.
So yeah, that’s my story of making Warlock helmets in Destiny 2. It was a lot of work, but I learned a ton, and now I have a super cool, custom helmet to show off to my fireteam. And I plan to keep making more cool helmets, it was super fun!
