Man, I’ve been grinding so hard in League of Legends lately, especially with Split 2 coming to a close. I really wanted to hit that next rank, you know? So, I started by setting a goal. I was Gold 3 at the time and I figured, “Okay, let’s aim for Platinum.” It seemed doable, but definitely a challenge.
First thing I did was to check the official announcement to see when the season actually ends. You don’t want to be caught off guard! I made a note of the date and started planning my strategy.

Next, I decided to focus on just two champions that I’m really comfortable with. One for my main role and one for my secondary role. I figured mastering a couple of champions would be better than spreading myself thin across a bunch of different ones. I practiced a ton of games with them, focusing on my mechanics, my map awareness, and decision-making. I watched a few high-level players to learn from them.
My Grinding Schedule
- Wake up early: Get in a couple of games before work.
- Lunch break: Squeeze in a quick ARAM or two if possible, just to keep the fingers nimble.
- After work: This is where the real grind happened. I’d play for a few hours, taking breaks in between to avoid burnout.
- Weekends: Full-on grind mode! But I still made sure to get enough sleep and spend some time away from the screen.
It wasn’t easy. There were days when I was on a losing streak and I felt like giving up. But I kept reminding myself of my goal and pushed through. I reviewed my replays, tried to figure out what I was doing wrong, and made adjustments.
Slowly but surely, I started to see progress. I climbed to Gold 2, then Gold 1. Then the real struggle began. Promo after promo, I kept failing to break into Platinum. It was frustrating, to say the least. But I didn’t give up. I kept playing, kept learning, kept improving.
Finally, with just a few days left before the split ended, I did it. I hit Platinum! It felt amazing to finally achieve my goal after all that hard work. I know it’s just a game, but it was a good feeling to set a goal and actually reach it. Now, time to take a little break and figure out what’s the goal for the next split!
