Today, I messed around with making a grass floor, and let me tell you, it was quite the ride. I started by clearing out the area. This meant pulling out all the old stuff, you know, the junk that had piled up. Then, I leveled the ground. Got myself a shovel and made sure everything was even. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it was a start.
Next, I put down a layer of gravel. This was a bit of a pain, spreading it out evenly, but I got it done. After the gravel, I rolled out some landscape fabric. This stuff is supposed to keep the weeds from coming up, which is always a plus.

Planting the Grass
- Choosing the Seeds: First, I picked out the grass seeds. I went with a mix that’s supposed to be hardy and good for walking on. No fancy stuff, just regular grass seed.
- Sowing the Seeds: I grabbed a seed spreader, one of those hand-crank things, and went to town. I walked back and forth, making sure the seeds were spread evenly. It felt like I was some kind of farmer, which was kind of cool.
- Watering: After spreading the seeds, I gave the area a good soaking. Used a regular garden hose with a spray nozzle. Made sure the water got deep into the soil.
Now, it’s all about waiting. I’ve been watering the area every day, keeping an eye out for any sprouts. It’s been a few days, and I’m starting to see some green. It’s not much, but it’s there. Getting excited to see it all grow in.
Honestly, it’s a bit rough around the edges, and it took some sweat, but seeing that grass start to come up? Pretty satisfying. I kept checking every day, watering it, making sure it got enough sun. Finally, the whole area filled in, and I had my grass floor. It’s not like those perfect lawns you see in magazines, but it’s mine, and I made it.
