I’ve been diving deep into Ghostwire: Tokyo lately, and let me tell you, it’s a visually stunning game. But there’s this one thing that’s been bugging me – the field of view, or FOV. It’s a bit too narrow for my taste, makes me feel a bit claustrophobic, you know?
So, I thought, “Why not try to tweak it a bit?” I went online, did some digging. Turns out, I wasn’t the only one with this issue. A bunch of other folks were also looking for a way to widen that FOV.

After looking at some other people’s stuff, I found this tool called the “UE4 Universal Unlocker.” Sounds fancy, right? Well, it’s this nifty little program that lets you mess around with settings in games made with the Unreal Engine 4, and guess what? Ghostwire: Tokyo is one of them!
I downloaded the unlocker, and followed these steps. It’s pretty straightforward, actually:
- First, I launched the game and got to the main menu.
- Then, I alt-tabbed out and fired up the UE4 Unlocker.
- Next, I selected the Ghostwire: Tokyo process from the list in the unlocker. It was something like “*,” can’t miss it.
- After that, I hit the “Inject DLL” button. This basically loads the unlocker’s magic into the game.
- Once that was done, I went back into the game, and loaded my save file.
- Then, I pressed the tilde key (~) to open up the in-game console. It’s like a secret command prompt.
- Finally, I typed in “fov 100” (without the quotes) and hit enter. You can change that number to whatever FOV you like. 90, 110, go crazy!
Some Extra Steps
Now, here’s the thing. Every time you go through a loading screen, you gotta repeat those last two steps – open the console and type in the FOV command again. It’s a bit of a pain, but it’s worth it for that sweet, sweet wide view.
And that’s it! Now I can enjoy Ghostwire: Tokyo without feeling like I’m looking through a keyhole. If you’re also bothered by the narrow FOV, give this a try. It makes a huge difference!
