Alright, so today I’m gonna talk about my little adventure figuring out the top lane in League of Legends. You know, it’s that whole “S tier” thing everyone’s always going on about.
First, I jumped into a bunch of games to see what was what. I started by picking random top laners, just to get a feel for the current scene, you know?

I noticed pretty quickly that some champs just felt stronger than others, no surprise there. Like, I played a few rounds as Gnar, and man, it felt like I could just roll over people. Then I tried some Teemo, and it was a blast! Just running around, planting shrooms, and driving the other guy nuts. And Shen, wow, after his buffs, he’s a real beast now. Felt almost unfair.
Then I dug into some stats online, because that’s what you gotta do, right? I found this one site called “Mobalytics” or something like that. They had this whole tier list thing based on win rates and some “PBI index” stuff.
So I started playing more with the champs they listed as top tier. I focused on Gnar, Teemo, and Shen since they were mentioned as “dominant.”
- With Gnar, I practiced transforming at the right time and really learned how to bully people in lane.
- With Teemo, it was all about map control and getting those shrooms in the right spots.
- And with Shen, I focused on using my ult to help out my team and just being a solid tank.
After messing around with these guys for a while, I started to see why they’re considered so good. You can totally carry games if you play them right.
I also experimented with some other champs that were supposed to be good, but those three, Gnar, Teemo, and Shen, they just clicked for me.
My Takeaway
My big takeaway from all this is that if you wanna do well in the top lane, you gotta pick the right champs. And right now, those three are the real deal. They’ve got the power, the control, and the ability to really make a difference in the game. So yeah, that’s my little journey to understanding the “S tier” top lane. Hope you found it somewhat helpful, or at least a little entertaining!
