So, I saw this thing called “MLB The Show Supercharged” players, and I was like, “What’s that all about?” I gotta say, it took me a bit to figure it out, but now that I’ve cracked it, it’s pretty cool.
First off, I started poking around the menus in Diamond Dynasty, because that’s where all the good stuff is. I noticed these cards with a little lightning bolt symbol next to them. Turns out, those are the Supercharged players. But they weren’t always like that. They are normal, everyday players.
Next, I started watching some real-life baseball games. I figured, hey if these cards are based on that, maybe I should pay more attention. This is where it gets interesting. If a player did amazing in a game, like hitting three home runs or pitching a shutout, boom! They get Supercharged in the game for a few days!
I tried it out myself. I had a few players who were on fire in real life, and I kept checking their cards in the game. Sure enough, they got that lightning bolt! Their stats went through the roof. It was awesome! For example, I saw a player hit two homers and a triple in a real game. The next day, that player was Supercharged. I immediately put him in my lineup.
Here’s how I played with it:
- Kept an eye on real games: I made it a point to follow what was happening in Major League Baseball.
- Checked my squad daily: I started looking at my Diamond Dynasty team every day to see if any of my players got boosted.
- Flipped some cards: I even tried buying some cards of players who I thought were gonna have a big game. When they got supercharged, I sold them for a nice profit. It was like playing the stock market, but with baseball cards!
So, yeah, that’s the whole Supercharged thing in MLB The Show. It’s a really neat way to connect the video game to the real-life sport. Plus, it made playing Diamond Dynasty way more exciting, always waiting to see who’s gonna get that boost. I’m totally hooked now! I’ve been checking the stats and watching games more than ever before. Who knew virtual baseball cards could be this much fun?
