Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with Pokemon again lately, and this time I wanted to see just how much I could boost a Pokemon’s friendship using those friendship berries. You know, the ones that make your Pokemon like you more but also lower some stats? Yeah, those.
I started off by grabbing a bunch of different kinds of these berries. There’s a bunch of them, like the Pomeg Berry, Kelpsy Berry, Qualot Berry, and a few others like Hondew Berry, and Grepa Berry. I had heard that using these could really make a Pokemon love you quick, so I was pretty pumped to try it out.

First, I picked a Pokemon that I wanted to test this on. It was just some random one I caught, nothing special. I checked its friendship level, which you can kind of guess at from how it acts and stuff. It wasn’t super friendly to start, which was perfect for what I wanted to do.
- I started feeding it the Pomeg Berries. These are supposed to lower its HP EV but make it friendlier.
- Then I moved on to the Kelpsy Berries, which mess with the Attack stat.
- After that, I used Qualot Berries, which lower Defense.
- I kept going with Hondew and Grepa Berries, which work on Special Attack and Special Defense.
I made sure to keep track of how many berries I was using. I heard somewhere that you only need about 20 or so to max out a Pokemon’s friendship, so I was curious if that was true. I just kept feeding my Pokemon these berries one after another, mixing them up. It was kind of tedious, but I was really curious to see if this worked as well as people said.
After about 20 or so berries, I checked the Pokemon’s friendship again. Man, it was acting way different! It was all happy and stuff, following me around like it was glued to me. It seemed like it really worked, the Pokemon was way friendlier than before. It went from just okay to super happy. It’s pretty cool that these berries can make such a big difference.
So, yeah, it looks like using friendship berries is a legit way to make your Pokemon like you more. It does lower some of their stats, but if you don’t care about that, or if you are just trying to evolve a Pokemon that needs high friendship, it’s worth it. I’m definitely gonna use this trick again in the future. It’s a way easier way to make Pokemon happy than some of the other methods. Who knew that berries could be so powerful, right?
