So, I’ve been a huge fan of Demon Slayer lately, just like everyone else, and I got really hyped about the release of Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. I mean, who wouldn’t want to jump into that world and start slaying demons? Anyway, I got the game for my PS4, and my buddy, he’s on the PS5. We were all excited to team up and play together, but then we hit a snag.
We tried everything to get into the same game. I was sending him invites, he was trying to join me, but nothing was working. It was super frustrating. We spent a good chunk of time just messing around in the menus, trying to figure out what was going wrong. Eventually, we had to face the sad truth.
After a bunch of searching around online and digging through forums, I found the answer. Turns out, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles doesn’t support cross-platform play. Yeah, you read that right. No crossplay between PS4 and PS5, or any other consoles for that matter. I was bummed, and my friend was too. We were really looking forward to playing together.

It’s a fun game, but the lack of crossplay is a major drawback in my opinion. Hopefully, other game developers will learn from this and make sure to include crossplay in their games from the get-go.
