So I’ve been really into Demon Slayer lately, you know, the whole demon-slaying action and all that. And I got my hands on “Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles” for my PS5. It’s a blast playing through the story, especially in solo play mode, becoming the blade that destroys demons and stuff.
But here’s the thing, one of my buddies, he’s on Xbox One. We were talking about how cool it would be to play together. I even told him to bring his Xbox One to work one day. I mean, wouldn’t it be awesome to team up and take on those demons together? I was so pumped about this idea!
So I started digging around, trying to figure out if this game supports cross-platform play. I saw some chatter online. Like, one person was asking if there’s crossplay between PS4 and PS5, hoping to play with their friend. Another comment said, “Hopefully they have cross platforms,” but then someone else replied, “No cross platform. Sorry.” That was a bummer. Someone just tell me this already!
I kept searching, hoping to find some good news. I even found a post asking if the game is cross-compatible with Xbox or PlayStation. My heart sank a little more each time I saw a “no.” But hey, I get it. I mean, Sony seems to be a bit of a stickler about crossplay, so maybe that’s the roadblock? I don’t know the reason, I’m just trying to connect the dots here. I really don’t want to play with random strangers.
No Cross-Play with The Hinokami Chronicles
After all this digging, I finally found a more official source. It said, “Which platforms support Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles?” And the answer was basically that it’s available on PlayStation 5, which I already knew. But there was no mention of cross-platform play anywhere. It’s a shame, really. Maybe in the future, they’ll add it, but for now, it looks like I’m stuck playing solo or with other PS5 folks.
Here’s what I gathered from my little investigation:
- The game is on PS5 (and probably other platforms, but that’s what I care about).
- There’s a lot of people like me who want cross-platform play.
- From what I found, it’s a no-go on cross-platform for now.
So, yeah, that’s my little adventure into the world of cross-platform gaming and Demon Slayer. It didn’t end the way I hoped, but hey, the game is still fun solo. And who knows, maybe one day they’ll make our cross-platform dreams come true. Until then, I’ll be here, slaying demons on my PS5.
