Okay, so, I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight for a while now, and today I ran into a bit of a hiccup. I booted up my computer, all excited to get some game time in, but I couldn’t connect to the servers. Bummer, right?
First thing I did was check my own internet connection. I mean, sometimes my Wi-Fi can be a little wonky. I did a quick speed test, restarted my router – the usual drill. Everything seemed fine on my end. My internet was up and running like it should be.

Next, I went on a little online hunt to see if anyone else was having the same problem. I checked a couple of websites that track server outages for games. And guess what? There were a bunch of reports from other Dead by Daylight players, all saying they couldn’t connect either.
- Checked my internet connection: Yep, all good.
- Checked online outage reports: Lots of people reporting issues.
Doing Some Digging
I started seeing a pattern. I looked at this graph thingy that showed outage reports over the last 24 hours, and it was pretty clear that the problem spiked around the time I tried to log in. So, it wasn’t just me.
Then I found out that these websites actually ping the game’s website, like, sending it a little “hello” to see if it’s awake. They said the site was technically up, with a status code of 200. But, some said that this code just means the website is alive, not necessarily that the game servers are working perfectly.
I also stumbled upon this heat map thing that showed where all the problem reports were coming from. It looked like a pretty widespread issue, not just in one area.
So, yeah, that’s where I’m at. It seems like the Dead by Daylight servers are probably having some issues. It’s a bit of a letdown, but hey, these things happen. I’ll just have to wait it out and hope they get it fixed soon. I’m sure the developers are aware and working on a fix. Maybe I’ll go make some coffee or something and try again later. Just wait it out a bit. It’s happened before and was eventually fixed!
