Alright, so, I’ve been playing Final Fantasy XIV for a while now, and one thing I really got into is collecting mounts. I mean, who wouldn’t? They’re cool, they let you get around faster, and some of them just look awesome. Anyway, I recently got my hands on this mount called Xanthos, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride, literally.
First off, getting Xanthos wasn’t a walk in the park. This thing is tied to those Extreme Trials, which, if you’ve ever done them, you know they’re no joke. They’re tough, they require a good team, and you gotta know your stuff. So, I had to do a bunch of these Extreme Trials. I don’t remember exactly how many trials I did, but it’s definitely a grind, a big grind for me, a new player in FFXIV.

After grinding through those trials, hoping for the mount to drop, I finally got lucky. Or maybe it was skill, who knows. I used the item, and boom, Xanthos was mine.
Now, riding Xanthos is a whole other thing. They say this mount is supposed to be like the wind itself when it’s at full gallop. And yeah, it feels fast, really fast. Plus, it looks pretty badass, not gonna lie. It’s like this majestic horse, all gold and powerful-looking, totally fits the whole vibe of Garuda, the primal it’s associated with.
Using Xanthos
- Summoning: First, I had to use the item to add Xanthos to my mount collection. It’s pretty straightforward, you just use the item, and it’s added.
- Riding: Once it’s in your collection, you can summon it like any other mount. And yeah, it’s as cool as it looks.
So, that’s my experience with Xanthos in FFXIV. It was a grind to get it, but totally worth it. Now I’m just showing off, riding around, feeling like a king, haha. If you’re a mount collector in FFXIV, this one’s definitely a must-have. Just be ready for those Extreme Trials. They’re tough, but hey, that’s part of the fun, right?
And there you have it. My journey to getting and riding Xanthos. It’s been a blast, and I’m already looking forward to the next mount grind. Maybe I’ll share that adventure too, who knows? Until then, happy gaming, everyone!
