Alright, so, I got sucked into this “New World: Aeternum” game, right? And let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I’m no hardcore gamer, but I do love getting lost in these virtual worlds from time to time. Today, I want to talk about this whole Heartgem thing, because it was quite the adventure for me.
So, I started like everyone else, just wandering around, doing some quests, and getting a feel for the game. Then I hit up the Brimstone Sands area. I was chugging along on the main quest when I noticed something called the “Secrets of the Heartgem” quest pop up on my map. I got this quest after I had talked to Yonas the Hermit and done the Destiny Unearthed quest, if you are wondering when this quest will show up. Naturally, I was like, “What’s this all about?” But here’s the kicker – it didn’t show up in my quest journal. Weird, huh? I figured I needed to go talk to some NPC, so I followed the map marker.

Now, I’m not one to usually look things up online, but this had me stumped. I did a quick search and found out that others had the same issue. Some folks said to start the quest in Ebonscale Reach, especially if you’re in the Marauder faction, which I am. But when I got there, nothing. No quest, no nothing. It was frustrating, to say the least.
I then headed up to Brimstone, thinking maybe that’s where I was supposed to be. I spent hours running around, trying to figure out if I was missing something obvious or if my game was just bugged. I even checked my current quest list a million times, hoping to find a clue.
After what felt like forever, I finally stumbled upon the right path. It turns out, getting the Heartgem isn’t just about following quest markers. There’s a whole chain of events you need to trigger. You have to talk to specific people, complete certain tasks, and then, bam, the Heartgem quest finally reveals itself. It was a real “aha!” moment for me.
I eventually managed to unlock the Heartrune slot. It wasn’t straightforward, and it definitely took some trial and error. But that’s what made it so satisfying when I finally got it. And I got to experience more of the game’s world and story along the way, so it is not so bad.
So, that’s my Heartgem story. I am glad that it’s over. It was a pain, yeah, but it also felt like a real accomplishment. If you’re playing “New World” and you’re stuck on this part, don’t give up. Keep exploring, keep talking to people, and you’ll get there.
If you are a newbie to New World, hope my sharing today helps you out. Remember to talk to Yonas and get the Destiny Unearthed quest done. And hey, if you’ve got your own Heartgem stories, I’d love to hear them. Let me know in the comments!
