Okay, so I’ve been grinding away at MLB The Show 24’s Road to the Show mode. It’s fun, but sometimes you just wanna shake things up, right? Like, maybe your team’s a dumpster fire, or you’re stuck behind some superstar and never getting playing time. That’s where getting traded comes in. I wanted to figure out how to make this happen, so I did some digging and experimenting. Here’s what I did.
Starting Fresh
First, I created a new player. I went all-in on being a pitcher this time, since my last guy was a shortstop. Made him a total beast, or at least, that was the plan. I got drafted, and initially, I was pretty hyped. The team seemed decent, and I figured I’d work my way up.

The Grind
Played a bunch of games. I mean, a LOT. I was trying to balance playing well enough to keep my stats up but also not be so amazing that the team would never let me go. It’s a weird line to walk, you know? I purposely did the following to try and encourage a trade.
- Skipped some training sessions.
- Tanked some interactions with my agent.
- Made some boneheaded plays on the field.
Making My Case
After a few weeks in the game, I started regularly checking in with my agent. He’s got that “Representation” option in his menu. It is really hard to miss. At first, he was all like, “You’re doing great, kid!” But I kept bugging him. Eventually, he started giving me the option to request a trade. The first few times I asked, he told me to wait it out. Finally, I got to the point where he said he’d “feel it out” with other teams.
The Waiting Game
This was the most agonizing part. I kept playing, kept performing at that “good but not too good” level, and kept checking in with my agent. Days turned into weeks in the game. I was starting to think it would never happen. It was pretty frustrating, to be honest. I was doing good, but also trying not to be great.
Success!
Then, BAM! One day, I loaded up the game, and there it was – a message saying I’d been traded! I was so stoked. Finally, a change of scenery. My new team was a definite upgrade, and I was instantly put in the starting lineup. It felt awesome to be wanted, you know?
So, that’s how I finally managed to get traded in MLB The Show 24’s RTTS mode. It takes some patience and a bit of strategic mediocrity, but it’s definitely doable. If you’re feeling stuck or just want a new challenge, give it a shot! It definitely made the game feel fresh again for me. Good luck!
