Okay, so, I wanted to do something special with mums. You know, those plants that are like, everywhere in the fall? I got this idea to make them green, yeah, like, not the usual orange or yellow. So, I started this little project, calling it my “green mum” adventure.
First things first, I went out and bought a bunch of regular mums. They were all kinds of colors, but not green. Then, I hit up the local store and grabbed some green dye. I figured, why not, right? I got home and started mixing the dye with water, following the instructions on the box. It was a bit messy, but kinda fun to see the water turn this crazy bright green.

Next, I took the mums and dipped their roots in the green water. I had to do it one by one, which took a while, but I was determined to see if this would actually work. I placed them all in pots with fresh soil and watered them with the green water. It felt weird, pouring green water on plants, but I went with it.
Waiting Game
- Day 1: Nothing. They looked the same, just regular colored mums sitting in green-tinged water.
- Day 3: Still nothing. I started to doubt myself, thinking maybe this was a dumb idea.
- Day 5: I noticed a little something! A few of the white mums started to show a bit of green on their petals. It was faint, but it was there!
- Day 7: More green! The white mums were definitely turning a light shade of green. The other colored ones, not so much. They just looked, well, darker.
After a week or so, I stopped using the green water and just watered them normally. The white mums stayed green, which was pretty cool. They weren’t like, super bright green, but more like a soft, pastel green. It was different, and I liked it.
So, my “green mum” project was kind of a success. I mean, I didn’t get all the mums to turn green, but the white ones did, and that was enough for me. It was a fun experiment, and it taught me that sometimes, you just gotta try stuff, even if it seems a little crazy. Plus, I had some unique-looking mums to show off, which was a nice bonus.
I know some folks might think it is not a good idea, it seems like the chatbots or digital therapists, but I just tried. You know, it is just an experiment. I like to try things.
Anyway, I gotta feeling that it just made me feel organized and states that I should try more.
In the end, it is just the regular growth and development. It is not a big deal.
Maybe I will try different ways next time. Whatever, I enjoyed this one.
