Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Typhlosion in Pokémon Go lately, and let me tell you, figuring out the best moveset for this guy has been quite the journey. I started by checking out some of those attacker tier lists online. You know, the ones that are supposed to tell you which Pokémon are the best for raids and gym battles?
Honestly, those lists can be overwhelming. So many Pokémon, so many moves, so much conflicting information. It was hard to know what to prioritize.
I learned a few things, though. Apparently, Psychic is a super strong type in Pokémon Go, even though it’s not widely effective. Dragon types are also powerful and resist a bunch of different attacks, like Fire, Water, Grass, and Electric. Good to know.
The thing is, the “strongest” Pokémon seem to change all the time. The game gets updated, new Pokémon are released, and suddenly, your old favorites aren’t as great anymore. Frustrating, right?
So, back to Typhlosion. I really wanted to make him work because, well, he’s cool. I started experimenting with different moves, trying to find a combination that felt good in battles.
My Typhlosion Experiments
First, I focused on his Fast Move. I tried out Ember for a while, which seemed okay, but then I switched to Incinerate. It felt like Incinerate was doing a bit more damage, although it took longer to charge up.
- Ember: Fast, but not as powerful.
- Incinerate: Slower, but packs a bigger punch.
Then there were the Charged Moves. Oh boy, this was tricky. I started with Blast Burn, because, you know, it’s a legacy move and everyone says it’s amazing. It was definitely powerful, but it took forever to charge! I also tried out Solar Beam, which was kind of a wild card since it’s a Grass-type move. It was surprisingly effective against Water-type Pokémon!
- Blast Burn: Super strong, but slow to charge.
- Solar Beam: Good coverage against Water types, but also slow.
- Overheat: Quick to charge, but not great overall damage output.
After a bunch of battles, I finally settled on a moveset that I’m pretty happy with: Incinerate as the Fast Move and Blast Burn as the Charged Move. I also kept Solar Beam as a second Charged Move, just for fun, and to throw my opponents off-guard sometimes.
It’s not perfect, but it works for me. Typhlosion might not be the absolute strongest Pokémon in the game, but with this moveset, he can definitely hold his own. And hey, isn’t that what matters in the end? Having fun and battling with your favorite Pokémon?
