Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “March of the Machine” thing, trying to figure out what’s good and what’s not. It’s a card game, kinda, part of Magic: The Gathering. And man, it’s been a ride. I wanted to put together a tier list, you know, like a ranking of the cards, so I could crush it in the next draft.
First, I started looking around online, seeing what other folks were saying. Found some stuff on “Draftsim” – they had rankings for all the cards. Seemed like a good place to start, yeah? I spent a good chunk of time just reading through their ratings, trying to get a feel for things. They had some pretty complicated systems with the ratings, and I tried to make sense of them. I spent hours just reading and making notes.

Then there was this card, “Elesh Norn / The Argent Etchings.” Everyone’s talking about it. Four mana, whatever that means. I pulled it in one of my virtual packs, and it seemed pretty powerful. I made a note about it, and did more reading about it. It seemed important, so I made sure to pay extra attention to it.
I also checked out some articles that talked about the best “commons” and “uncommons.” You know, the cards that show up more often. Figured those would be important to know. I started to understand the colors, and started to understand which colors and cards were stronger. It seemed a bit clearer as I read.
After all that, I started playing some practice drafts, just to try things out. I paid attention to which cards worked well together, which colors seemed strong, and which cards just felt bad to play. It was a lot of trial and error, I lost a bunch of these practice games, but I learned a lot about the cards.
My First Draft Games
I started playing the first games with some friends. It was pretty confusing at the start. I picked cards that seemed good, but they didn’t work so well together. It was pretty rough and I was frustrated at first, but I kept playing and trying different things. I learned which cards to pick first, and which ones to avoid. After a bunch of games I started to get the hang of it.
Slowly, I started to build my own tier list. It wasn’t fancy, just a simple ranking of the colors and some of the key cards. I tried to keep track of what worked and what didn’t, you know? I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s a start. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it.
Using My Tier List
Then came the real test – an actual draft with some friends. I went in with my little tier list, feeling kinda nervous but also kinda excited. It was time to see if all this work paid off. I started drafting, trying to follow my tier list, and it went pretty well! I ended up winning a few games, which felt awesome. It wasn’t all smooth sailing, but I definitely did better than I would have without all that prep work. I kept adjusting my list after each game, and it started to get better and better. I felt like I was really learning something.
So, yeah, that’s my story about trying to figure out this “March of the Machine” tier list. It’s been a lot of work, a lot of reading, and a lot of playing. But I think I’m finally starting to get it. And hey, maybe this will help some of you out there too. It felt good to finally put this list together, and share it with others. I kept playing with my friends, and we all started to get better at the game. It was a lot of fun.
My tier list is based on what I’ve played, so it’s not going to be the same as everyone else’s. This is all just my opinion, you know? You gotta try things out for yourself and see what works for you. But hopefully, this gives you a good starting point. Go out there and crush it! Good luck, and have fun! It’s a great game, and I’m glad I put in the work to learn it. You should try it too!
