Okay, so, I’ve been playing around with this Pokemon, Lickilicky, for a while now, and let me tell you, figuring out the best moveset for this guy has been a real journey.
At first, I was all over the place. I mean, Lickilicky is a Normal-type, which is kinda cool because it’s only got one weakness, Fighting-type moves. So, I started thinking, “Alright, this guy can probably take a hit.” And you know what? He can. This Pokemon is surprisingly bulky. I started off with just trying to level him up and seeing what moves he naturally learned in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond.

Then, I did some digging around about what other people were doing with their Lickilickys. I saw some folks talking about using him to counter Ghost-types, since he’s got access to Lick. I thought, “Hey, that’s not a bad idea!” So, I started training him up, battling a bunch of Ghost-type Pokemon. And, it worked pretty well! He could take those Shadow Balls and keep on ticking. I was starting to feel like a Pokemon master, hah!
- Lick: I had it learn Lick first.
- Hyper Beam: I also had it learn Hyper Beam since I found out it’s Lickilicky’s strongest move.
After that, I started messing around with other moves. I saw some people online talking about competitive battles, like VGC. Honestly, that’s a bit beyond me right now, but it got me thinking about different strategies. I experimented with breeding to get some egg moves onto him. I found out that it’s 5’07” tall and it is a licking Pokemon. I mean the name Lickilicky is self-evident. It is Normal type and it evolves from Lickitung.
I also learned about this ability called Oblivious, which prevents Taunt. I tried using that in a few battles, and it was pretty helpful. It kept my Lickilicky from getting shut down, which was a nice change of pace.
So, after all this experimenting, what did I settle on? Well, I found that a combination of Lick and Hyper Beam worked really well for me. Lick for those pesky Ghost-types, and Hyper Beam for just, you know, blasting things away. It’s a simple moveset, but it’s been pretty effective.
Honestly, there’s probably a lot more to explore with Lickilicky. This is just what I’ve found works for me. It’s been a fun learning process, and I’m definitely gonna keep playing around with this big, tongue-wagging goofball.
In conclusion, I’m going to continue my journey with Lickilicky. As a high-quality Normal-type Pokemon, I’m sure Lickilicky will bring me more surprises!
