Man, I’ve been messing around with this “New Phyrexia” card set from Magic: The Gathering all day, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I started out just wanting to see what all the fuss was about, you know? Heard some folks talking about it online, and figured I’d dip my toes in.
First thing I did was try to find a list of all the cards. I just searched “New Phyrexia card list” in Google. It pulled up a bunch of websites, forums, and even some fan wikis, but it was kind of overwhelming. Too much information, you know? I don’t need all that history and strategy stuff. I was just looking for a simple, straightforward list.

So, I clicked on a few of the links, and most of them were pretty much what I expected – tons of cards, all sorts of crazy creatures and spells. I saw this one card, “Atraxa, Grand Unifier”, pop up a few times. It looked pretty powerful, with all these keywords like “Flying” and “Deathtouch”. It also said something about looking at the top ten cards of your library. Seems like a good deal.
- Flying
- Vigilance
- Deathtouch
- Lifelink
After clicking around some more, I found one site that had a visual spoiler, which was kind of cool. It listed 175 cards, which, I guess, is all of them from this set? That’s a lot of cards. Then I found some more sites talking about “Gatherer” and mentioned something about 2 mythic rare cards and 10 basic lands and 4 traditional foil commons and 2 uncommons. I was so confused. What are they? How do I use them?
Finally, after digging through a few more pages, I found a site that just had all the New Phyrexia cards listed out, nice and clean. No frills, just the names and some pictures. That was more my speed. I scrolled through, just taking it all in. So many weird names and abilities. It’s almost like a whole different language.
Honestly, after spending all this time, I’m not sure I’m any closer to understanding how to actually play with these cards, but it was definitely an experience. I’ll probably give it another go tomorrow, maybe try to find some videos or something that explain the basics a little better. But for now, I think I need a break from all these Phyrexians.
