Alright, so I wanted to get a Palworld server up and running for me and my buddies. It seemed like a fun idea, but I quickly realized it involved more than just clicking a few buttons. I dove into it anyway, and let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
First off, I had to make sure my server was ready for this. I’m not running some supercomputer over here, but it’s decent enough. Once I got the basics down, I found out about these things called “admin commands.” Now, I’m no server wizard, but I figured these commands could be pretty useful. So, I started digging into how to actually use them.

The first step I took was setting an admin password. I mean, you don’t want just anyone messing with your server, right? I went into the server settings, it’s pretty easy to find in the left menu. There’s a search bar there, so I just typed “Admin”. Boom, there it was – “Admin Password.” I set a password that wasn’t too obvious. It had to be a mix of letters, numbers, and all that jazz.
Once the password was set, it was time to actually use these commands. I learned that you can use them in the game itself or through the server console. The in-game method seemed easier to me at the time, so I went with that.
- /Info: This one was simple enough. It just shows you basic stuff like the server name and the version of the game you’re running. Not super exciting, but hey, it’s a start.
- /Shutdown: This bad boy, with a message and a delay timer, lets you shut down the server. But you can also cancel the shutdown with a simple command. Good for maintenance and stuff.
So, I started playing around with these commands. One of the first things I tried was teleporting. Now, this is where things got a little tricky. There were these commands called /TeleportToPlayer and /Teleport. It turns out you need to know the player’s name you are trying to mess with.
Another cool thing I figured out was the /Broadcast command. This lets you send a message to everyone on the server. I can see this being useful for announcements or just generally messing with people. I used this to tell everyone I was becoming the admin, it was fun!
There are a bunch of other commands too, like kicking or banning players, saving the server state, and even a /DoExit command that just shuts down the server completely. I haven’t messed with all of them yet, but it’s good to know they’re there. I found out that /Save will save your world, so everyone’s progress will be saved.
I also tried the /ShowPlayers command, which is super useful, to get the player’s name and ID. Because I need to know the specific name to teleport to my friends.
Honestly, the whole process was a bit of trial and error. I definitely made some mistakes along the way, but that’s how you learn, right? It’s like when you’re trying to fix something around the house, and you end up making things worse before they get better. But eventually, you figure it out.
And just like that, I had my Palworld server running with admin commands enabled. It’s not perfect, and I’m still learning new things every day. But it’s a fun little project, and it’s cool to have this level of control over the game world. Plus, my friends are pretty impressed, which is always a bonus.
In the end, it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. Sure, it took some time and effort, but it was totally worth it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a server to manage and some Pals to catch.
